What are Polyphenols used for?

Polyphenols promote a radiant complexion and combat ageing. They are the antioxidant active ingredients par excellence, limiting oxidation by neutralizing the free radicals that attack skin cells. Some of them also act to prevent and correct hyperpigmentation, i.e. brown spots.

At Novexpert, we've selected EGCG (full name: EpiGallactoCatechine Gallate), the green tea polyphenol with the highest antioxidant power. It acts to PREVENT pigmentations, by neutralizing free radicals, as well as to CORRECT them, by reducing the activity of tyrosinase, the molecule that manufactures the pigment at the origin of dark spots: melanin.
